Members’ Online Shop
The 009 Sales Team runs a service whereby we provide this online shop and additionally a sales stand at narrow gauge exhibitions for the benefit of 009 Society Members. The service provided is staffed and operated by 009 Society volunteers running a completely non-commercial operation, which is how we are able to offer such attractive prices to you. The 009 Society does not condone the purchase of items from the stand at shows, nor from online, for commercial resale. This practice deprives the membership of models priced at levels to suit the various pockets of 009 Society Membership and is strongly discouraged.
The team usually meets each Thursday to pick, pack and despatch sold items and we would normally hope to despatch orders which are fully paid before 11:30am on Thursday that day. Orders received or fully paid after 11:30am each Thursday will normally be posted the following week. It is our intention that we will continue to deliver items you order promptly and maintain a reasonable stock for purchase however we would ask that you allow reasonable time for delivery and accept our apologies should the variety and quantity of stock diminish.
Delivery
Postage prices are calculated for delivery to a UK Address. If you wish to have goods delivered to a non-UK address then you agree that you will be invoiced for, and pay, any excess postal fees, before the goods are despatched. Buyers located within the EU should be aware that from 1st January 2021 local Customs Duty, Import Taxes and Handling Charges may be liable on importation depending on your local country policy. Countries outside the EU will continue to receive the items under their previous rules. The 009 Members’ Sales Team are unable to advise upon the possibility or the size of these potential costs. The 009 Society Members’ Sales Team will not declare any items as Gifts and the Declared Value of the items will always be the price paid by the Member for the goods.
General Product Safety Directive
Regrettably the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) enacted on 14th December 2024 within the EU, placed significant and onerous requirements upon the Sales Team and the 009 Society, which we were unable to comply with. Unfortunately, it has become unviable for items to be despatched to the countries that have implemented this Directive, and for the avoidance of doubt the countries to which items will not be despatched to are;

- all EU countries,
- Norway,
- Iceland,
- Liechtenstein and,
- Northern Ireland.

The practical implementation of the requirements of this Directive and associated Regulations will be kept under active review and should it become possible, we will look again at being able to send items to these countries.
