Sealed Bid Auction 2024 – Ended 30 Nov 24

This auction has now closed

Sales Team has recently acquired several very attractive locomotives, and there have been several discussions on the fairest way to sell these highly attractive items to ensure that all members are provided with a way of purchasing them, but also ensure that the estates receive a fair price for the items. These discussions have led us to decide that the fairest and most equitable method is to have a sealed bid auction whereby should you wish to purchase any of the items you simply submit a bid, or multiple bids to Member Sales in a letter or via email.

You are advised not to place a bid ending in zero in order to minimise the chance of tied bids. In the event of bids with identical value the bidders will be contacted by the team and asked if they wish to rebid.

Bids must include the item SKU Number and the price being bid together with your membership number and the postal address you registered with the 009 Society. Please also include a telephone number for contact if you are the winning bidder. Bids without your membership number or registered address will be rejected.

The auction closes on 30th November 2024 @ 10:00 GMT and all bids must be with the Sales Team, whether post or email, by that time.

The letters and emails will be opened and reviewed with the highest and earliest bid winning the item.

The address for postal bids or postal questions relating to the items being offered is:

009 Society Sealed Bid Auction
1 Corinthian Road,
Chandler’s Ford
Eastleigh
Hampshire SO53 2BA

The email address for submission of email bids and email questions relating to the items being offered is:

members-sales@009Society.com

Postage for all items will be:

UK (up to and including £500) – £10.00, UK (above £500) £15, all other countries at cost.

Please note that the Sales Team will not enter into any discussions nor provide any information on any of the bids, how many bids were received nor the final selling price of the items. A low reserve price has been set for each item to ensure fairness to the seller, bids must be in excess of this reserve price.

The decisions of the Sales Team will be final, with winning bidders contacted using their bidding mechanism or telephone after bid verification. The winning bidders will be required to pay the Society in full within 10 days of the successful purchase. Successful bids not paid in full within 10 days will be offered to the next highest bidder. Bidders from outside the UK should not pay until they have been provided with the postage cost.

Bidders from outside the UK are responsible for any local customs restrictions, customs charges or import duty. All items will be declared at the price paid excluding postal charges.

We wish to inform you that some of the items have come from an estate where the owner was a heavy smoker, and the packaging may have a mild residual smell of the smoke.

Good Luck, we hope you get the item you bid on.
